Arrival

Parents are not currently allowed to access our facility and drop off will occur outside the front entrance. When you arrive at the drop off location, you can notify staff of your arrival by calling the center. Please wait with your child until a staff member greets you and your child at the markers indicated, ensuring social distancing (2 meters).

Child transition into the classroom

  1. Upon entering the facility, the children are asked to put their belongings into their labeled cubby and/or hook.
  2. Children are directed to use the hand sanitation station at the front door before entering the play area of the facility
  3. The children are then directed to thoroughly wash their hands in the bathroom for a minimum of 20 seconds under supervision of staff.

Handwashing throughout the day

Children are required to wash their hands before and after eating, after each new activity indoors and as they re-enter the facility from outside.

Cleaning and Sanitization

  1. Following the current health authority guidelines for sanitization and care, our classroom is disinfected twice per day, using a bleach and water solution of 10ml bleach to 990ml of water (see attached.)
  2. We are limiting our toy selection to the children each day so that we can effectively sanitize each item after each use.
  3. We ask parents to limit the amount of items brought from home to necessities only (lunch kit, jacket, comfort toy if needed.)

For the well-being of children, staff and families, open transparency and candor is required around all the above requirements. Although this may lead to some challenging conversations, staff and families need to acknowledge and respect their necessity and their intention of care during the pandemic. We sincerely appreciate your compliance and understanding.
